The MQ Power DCA-10 WhisperWatt is a 10 kW prime (11 kW standby) portable diesel generator powered by a Kubota D1503 1.498L 3-cylinder engine. It delivers 120/240V single-phase power at 61 dB(A) at 23 feet in the standard WhisperWatt sound-attenuated enclosure.

The DCA-10 is the sweet spot between the compact 6-7 kW units and the larger 14-20 kW models. At 10 kW, it handles most residential backup loads and light commercial applications without the fuel consumption or physical size of the larger units.

Kubota D1503 — proven 3-cylinder platform#

The D1503 is a naturally aspirated 3-cylinder diesel producing 24.5 bhp at 1800 RPM. The same engine family powers Kubota's compact tractors, utility vehicles, and industrial equipment — parts availability is excellent through Kubota's extensive dealer network.

What's the difference between the DCA-10 and DCA-15?
Both use the Kubota D1503 3-cylinder engine, but the DCA-15 is tuned to deliver 14 kW prime versus 10 kW on the DCA-10. The DCA-10 is Tier 4 Interim while the DCA-15 is Tier 4 Final. Choose the DCA-10 if your load stays under 10 kW — it will run at a lower percentage of capacity, improving fuel economy and engine life.
Can the DCA-10 power a small home?
Yes — 10 kW is sufficient for a typical small residential load: refrigerator, lighting, sump pump, and a few outlets. It cannot run central air conditioning simultaneously, but a window AC unit on a dedicated circuit is feasible.
