Overview#
The MQ Power DCA-36 WhisperWatt is the flagship of the single-phase WhisperWatt lineup — 36 kW prime (40 kW standby) from an Isuzu 4LE2X 2.93L turbocharged engine, the same powerplant found in the three-phase DCA-45. At 65 dB(A) at 23 feet with a 79.2-gallon integral tank, it delivers the full WhisperWatt experience in a single-phase-only configuration.
The DCA-36 exists because not every 36 kW load needs three-phase power. Large homes, small commercial buildings, and construction sites with heavy single-phase tool loads benefit from the simplified alternator and wiring — no three-phase distribution panel required.
Same engine as the DCA-45#
The Isuzu 4LE2X is the proven mid-range engine in the WhisperWatt lineup. At 2.93L with turbocharging, it achieves Tier 4 Final compliance through EGR and DPF — no DEF required. The engine produces 65.7 bhp at 1800 RPM, the same in both the DCA-36 and DCA-45. The power difference is in the alternator configuration, not the engine.
